David was born on March 9th, 1943 in Washington, D.C. to Jean and Arthur Stern. He studied Philosophy at Brooklyn College for his undergraduate degree and later receiving his Master’s in Philosophy at University of Minnesota. His upbringing left David being passionate about his Jewish roots. David moved to Jerusalem when he was 25 years old and lived there for seven years before returning back to New York. David worked in programming for his entire career. David’s brain was an inspiration to those who knew him. He was extremely intelligent and was able to speak eight languages. David was a dedicated congregate member of the Montebello Jewish Center since it opened. He was known for his intelligent mind, his warm heart, but mostly his immense love for his two children.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Jean, and his sister Sally. His is survived by his son Joseph, his daughter Emily, his brother Stephen, his ex-wife Janine, his cousins, and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed every day.

Through this organization, David planted many trees for loved ones throughout his lifetime. Another organization that held a special place in David’s heart was St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. David was an extremely generous and kind man.
