Robert John Kadlec, age 89 passed peacefully in Spring Hill, Florida, on November 9, 2021. Robert was born February 3, 1932 in The Bronx, New York, to his parents Frank and Mabel Kadlec. Previously departed loving siblings were Brothers Frank and Thomas. In his early years, Robert hopped the trolleys on the streets of New York, and enjoyed fishing with his brothers and friends. Robert later met his future wife, lovely Margaret Rose Choma, at the Silver Moon Pizza Parlor. Margaret and Robert married in 1951 and went on to spend 70 happy years of marriage until her passing on June 19, 2021. Robert truly loved his wife and was a faithful husband, who was always there for his "lady".
Robert moved his family out from NYC to Selden, Long Island in 1960, where he and his wife Margaret raised their 3 children, having many good times along the way. The Kadlec home was always the "fun place to be" welcoming all the neighborhood children. Robert was famous with family and friends for hosting his elaborate BBQ's and swimming parties! Robert genuinely enjoyed seeing others happy.
In his younger years, Robert was an avid bowler, handball player, boating, fishing, and camping enthusiast, and taught those skills to his 3 children. In his Senior years, Robert was tech savvy with his computers, making DVD's, CD's, and Photo Stories, and enjoyed much pleasure making gifts of them to family and friends.
Robert's profession was an Interior Decorator primarily in the New York City area. Robert was active in the business world as a self-made entrepreneur, owning a Gift Shop on Long Island. You could also catch him at the local Flea Markets selling his wares.
Robert and Margaret moved to Spring Hill, Florida in 1987.
Robert is survived by his three children and their families. The eldest, is his Loving son Robert Anthony Kadlec of Michigan. Loving Daughter Diane Margaret Ocedek (nee Kadlec) and Son-In-Law John Ocedek, Grandson Brian Ocedek, Great-Grandson Levi, Granddaughter Krisanne Ocedek, and Great-Granddaughters Kayleighanna, Jennifer, and Johanna, all of Belleview, Florida. Loving Daughter Catherine Mary Daleo (nee Kadlec) and Son-In-Law Joseph Daleo, Granddaughter Giovanna Daleo, and Grandson Joseph Daleo, all of Shirley, Long Island, New York.
Robert LOVED visiting with his Grandchildren and playing with his Great Grandchildren. One cherished tradition of both Robert and Margaret was to send Holiday Barbies every year to Granddaughters Krisanne and Giovanna.
Robert was fun, and adventurous, always wanting to try new things! He was a family man, and always put his wife, children, grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren first!
Although our hearts are saddened now, and may never be mended, "Dad", "Pop", "Grampa","Great-Grampie" will now reunite with his beloved wife Margaret. They will both be our "Special Angels" holding hands to watch over us. They will Always be in Our Hearts and Thoughts! Love you. 'Til we meet again...
