James Byer

Jim was born on January 13, 1944. He was a graduate of South Windsor High School and continued on to receive a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT. James served as a Personnel Director for Westvaco, the City of Bristol, CT, and the City of Hartford, CT.

James was lovingly married to Kathleen Byer (Benito) on November 5th, 1977. They were married for 44 years. He is survived by his children James Irvin Byer Jr. and his wife Laurie of Lake Elsinore, CA, Kimberly Garnelis and her husband Christopher of Stafford Springs, CT, Leighangela Brady and her husband Christopher of San Diego, CA, Shaun Byer of Las Vegas, NV, and David Byer and Betty Dunajski of Asheville, NC. His six grandchildren are Allison, Mitchel, Alexandra, Jeffrey, Danielle, and Noa. Jim is preceded in death by his mother Rose Byer “Millie.”

James’ passions were gardening, traveling, football, and lottery tickets. His unique sense of humor will be missed.
