

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Eileen Sofranek on April 23, 2025, at the age of 82. Barbara was born on December 31, 1942 in Easton, Pa. to John and Mildred (Annunziato) Ferdinand. She grew up a very happy child in Bergenfield, NJ.
In 1963, she met the love of her life and beloved husband, Stephen Francis Sofranek of 61 years. She was known for her strong will, kind heart, and generous spirit. She loved to laugh! In her early years, she was a Key Punch Operator, School Bus Driver, and she even helped her Brother at his delicatessen. She enjoyed cooking, swimming, dancing, and crafting miniature dollhouses. She was a talented pianist and she loved Elvis.
Her greatest joy and biggest accomplishment in life was her family. She loved being a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She felt it a labor of love to raise decent and moral citizens. She had unconditional love, patience, and guidance for all her children, and so enjoyed playing with her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, John Ferdinand; brother, Eileen Ferdinand; sis-in-law.
She is survived by her husband; her children Stephen John Sofranek and wife Mary, Kristen Dawn Sofranek, Tracey Lynn Major; grandchildren Victoria Sofranek, Michael Major Jr., Ashley Major,Kaylee Klecha; great grandchildren Bryce Casey and Violet Major, and she is survived by several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Turner Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, 5030 Mariner Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A committal services will occur Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, Spring Hill Dr, Spring Hill, FL 34609.
