Nicole "Nikki" Schultz nee Fleischman, age 70, a resident of Trego, Wisconsin, died on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota surrounded by her family after a sudden illness.
Nikki was born on February 7, 1943, in Antigo, Wisconsin to parents Alvin and Sybil (Thorne) Fleischman. She graduated from Antigo High School in 1961, and on November 3, 1962, was united in marriage to Merlyn Schultz in Deerbrook, Wisconsin. Nikki was a stay at home mother until her children were school aged at which time she went to work at the Antigo High School until the family moved to Trego in 1984. Nikki was a member of bowling leagues in both Antigo and Spooner and was an avid NASCAR fan, being able to attend a race in Kansas City in 2010. She was also a veracious reader, was known as the caretaker of the family helping to raise her grandchildren, and attended the Hodag Country Festival for many years. Nikki relaxed at her lake home feeding the birds and also making the occasional pilgrimage back to Antigo to spend time at the family cottage on Pelican Lake.
Nikki is survived by her sons: Kevin Denver, CO, Curt (Mike Will) of Minneapolis, MN, Mark (Tanya) of Barronett, WI, four grandchildren: Tony and Cody Rand of Spooner, WI, and Sawyer and Hannah Schultz of Barronett, WI, sister in law Leila Zabransky of Antigo, WI, and many cherished nephews and nieces.
Nikki is preceded in death by her husband Merlyn, her parents, daughter Michele “Shelli” Rand, and brother Dean Fleischman.
Funeral services for Nikki Schultz will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at noon, at the Dahl Funeral Home in Spooner, Wisconsin with Pastor Jack Starr officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11- noon. Interment will be held at the Lampson Cemetery next to her husband Merlyn.
