Michael Curtis Materne

He was born on Nov. 30th, 1985, in Spokane, WA. Michael spent most of his childhood in Spokane but had a few periods of time where he lived in Montana. He graduated in 2006 and had many professions over the years. He most recently worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Union Local 302 and was a Small Business Owner.

Michael enjoyed watching UFC fights with his brothers and friends and getting hyped up on all of the upsets. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle. Michael especially loved being a dad! He truly enjoyed anything that allowed him to spend time with his family and friends.

We will always remember him as a larger-than-life personality with a boisterous, genuine laugh and huge heart. He was the life of the party and someone that everyone loved to be around.

Michael is survived by his children, Jace, Riley, Miya & Ryder and their mothers, Brandy Woodbridge and Holly Adams, his mother Rochelle Sprinkle and his bonus Dad Rick Davis, his brothers Rodney (Dianna) Materne and Jordan (Emily) Materne, Ricky Davis, Jager Fox, his sisters Jessica (Cody) Materne-Woods and Tyleen Root, his stepsisters Autumn Vando, Kora Davis, Katie Nicholls, and Jessica Ibbetson, maternal Grandparents Diane & Ron Fox and paternal grandparents Marilyn (Jerry) Smith, uncles William (Lacy) Materne, Robert (Lesa) Deadman, aunts Lucinda (Dan) Materne-Karber, Michelle (Keith) Wolfe, Sharon (Al) Cadman Nez, and his aunt Lynn, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandpa Gary Materne, father Rodney Materne Sr., stepmom Joanne Moore, aunt Rene Kegley, and cousin Bobby Fletcher.

A reception will be held immediately following the burial at Legacy Billiards located at 5303 N Market St, Spokane, WA 99217.

A visitation for Michael will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206. A graveside service will occur Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 1306 N Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.

The family would like to thank everyone who has contributed in anyway. Any additional donations made in memory of Michael to the Numerica Credit Union donation account will be put into CDs for Jace and Ryder.
