Joel Thomas Knigge

Joel was born on August 17, 1983 and passed away June 1st, 2015. He grew up and lived in Spokane Valley, Washington, marrying Jennifer Summers on July 28th, 2007. Joel attended Eastern Washington University, studying Management Information Systems. He worked for Red Lion Hotels in Spokane as a Human Resources Administrator. He also owned Joel Knigge Photography, and loved spending time with his family and friends at the St. Joe River, exploring the outdoors, RC cars, drag races, and watching Duke basketball. Joel was a hardworking, giving, caring, enjoyable to be around, likable, considerate, generous, honest and loyal, willing to do anything for anyone, responsible, self-confident, serious, thoughtful, fun and lovable man. His leadership skills were exemplary. Joel is preceded in death by his Grandpa Roy. He is survived by his father, Randy Knigge (Spokane); father-in-law, Jim Summers (Spokane); mother, Kim Hatcher (Spokane); sister Michelle Seely (Richland, WA); brother Christopher Knigge (Spokane); wife Jennifer (Summers) Knigge; daughters Chelsea and Natalie Knigge; special pets Betsy and Duke; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, brother and sister-in-laws and grandparents. The service for Joel will be held Saturday, June 6th 2015 at 7:00pm at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N Pines Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
