A loving husband, father, and grandfather passed into God’s loving arms on December 20, 2011, surrounded by his wife and children. Born in Spokane to Malcolm C. Sharp and Margaret Elizabeth McDonald, Jim never strayed far from his beloved Palouse. While he spent his days in the automotive and engineering fields, Jim always truly enjoyed the life of a farmer. He was very active in his religion and was frequently found leading prayer groups, Bible studies, and services. After retirement, Jim was able to spend his days tending his horses, cattle, and garden full time on his farm in Rosalia. A man of many talents and abilities, Jim was known to be able to fix, repair, or build just about anything. He never lost his love of motorcycles, racing, and adrenaline, as evidenced by his apparent love of casts, x-rays, and back braces. Jim’s life and experiences allowed him the opportunity to spin a yarn that kept his audience enthralled. Prior to his passing, Jim spent his spare time mentoring college students, involving himself in his local government, and playing with his grandchildren. He was a man who was loved by many and will be missed by all. Jim was preceded in death by both his parents and his oldest brother. Malcolm C. Sharp, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Laura Lee; sister, Joan Meagher (Michael); brother, Donald B. Sharp, S.J.; daughters, Michelle M. Bleek-Plesek (Stephen) and Laura L. Behar (Alvan); son, James L. “Jay” Sharp, Jr. (Kathleen); stepdaughter, Sonya Hicks (Jason); and grandchildren, Leticia M. Bleek and Jacob J. Bleek.
