Our mother was born in Spokane, WA to Julius and Clara VandeWalle, in 1923. Graduated from Cheney High School and her class recently celebrated their 72nd class reunion. Married Edwin Rennick in 1941, had 5 children, Dan (Jean), Vicky (Keith Adkins), Ron (Mary), Gary (Mary Beth), and David (Robin). In 1979 married Willard Haase, and his children are Eloise (Mike Kennedy), Darrell (Colleen), and Theresa (Jon Hawes). Mom & Willard travelled all over the world, just having a great time. Sometimes they would get up, pack the car, and head out on the spur of the moment. They travelled to visit us kids, grand kids, and great grand kids. Jean was predeceased by her parents, her husbands Edwin and Willard, daughter Vicky and son Gary. Mom was a TOP’s member for many years, she enjoyed every moment with her TOP’s friends. Mom was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church since the early 50’s. She loved her church and the other members, and working on quilts, hats, and the Christmas shoe box program for years.
Mom loved her family and was a great mother, always wise, always able to make everyone happy. In addition to her 5 children, 3 step children, she had 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild on the way. She leaves her brother Dale (Doris) and his family. Mom was a resident at Evergreen Fountains for almost 6 years, and loved the people and her home there. She loved playing Shanghai Rummy almost every night, and told us she was very good at it. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers a donation be made on Mom’s behalf to Redeemer Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. Our mother will be missed by many and if you would like to join us for a Celebration of Life, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3606 S. Schafer Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206, on Saturday January 24, 2015 at 11 AM, followed by lunch in the church multi-purpose room, with grave site service to follow at the Pines Cemetery, weather permitting.
