Jack, Eileen Elizabeth (Age 90) Entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on May 24, 2011. She was born on July 19, 1920 in Leland, ID to Russell and Viola Smith. Eileen graduated from high school at the age of 16 and went on to the U of I, where she majored in music and education. She met and married the love of her life, Rolland Jack in 1938 and moved to Moscow, ID. Eileen and Rolland had three children, Barbara, who died after two days, Robert and Margaret. After their son Bob was born, they moved to California when Rolland joined the Navy. They moved back to Washington in 1950 and made their home near Cheney and then in Four Lakes, where Eileen worked for Eastern State Hospital. She was an active member of the Nazarene Church. She taught Sunday School, VBS, served on the church board, sang, and played the church organ and piano. After retirement she and Rolland moved to Yakima where they volunteered many hours at the Wapato Schools. After the death of her beloved husband, Rolland, she and her daughter Margaret, moved to the Spokane Valley. They joined the Valley Nazarene Church where they ministered to shut-ins and senior citizens. Eileen was an avid gardener and wonderful cook. Her great joy was helping others and sharing her love for her Lord. Even after entering Sunshine Gardens nursing home, she ministered to the staff and residents and shared her love for Jesus with her sweet smile and friendly touch. Eileen is survived by her loving daughter, Margaret; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Jack; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Viola Smith; brother Raleigh; sister Gene; husband Rolland; daughter Barbara and son Bob. God, family and friends were a priority in Eileen’s life. She was a great believer in education and a lover of children. In lieu of flowers, it would honor her memory greatly to help provide support and an education for a deserving underprivileged child in Honduras.
