David W. Payne passed away November 11, 2024 at the age of 85. He was born in Deadwood, South Dakota to parents William “Earl” and Lottie Payne. The family moved to Butte, Montana where Dave graduated from Butte High school in 1957.
Dave was an avid golfer, though he loved all sports. He also had an amazing singing voice, performing and MC’ing with the Hillyard Belles and Show Band. Dave had a long career with Motorola and retired from the company in 1992.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Judy, daughter Rae Ellen Mandell (Tom Rausch), grandchildren Ingrid Mitchell (Casey) and Kade Mandell, as well as great grandchildren Easton and Aubree Mitchell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
