Craig Michael Collins was granted his angel wings on September 9th, 2013. Craig was born May 15, 1965 in Spokane, Washington where he spent his entire life. His short 48 years were spent surrounded by family and friends that Craig had touched in small and big ways throughout his very memorable life. Craig's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile, sense of humor and his heart-felt happiness brought so much joy to Craig's family and friends. Craig gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. He enjoyed music, animated characters, coloring and reading stories. Craig is survived by his Father Steve Collins (Deb Collins), Sister Kimberlee Ross (Douglas Ross), Nieces Brooke and Hailee Ross and many other relatives and friends. Craig was preceded in death by his Grandpa Jack Cameron, his favorite person of all time, Grandma Bernice Cameron, Mother Jacqueline Collins, Sister Cara Collins and Nephew Drew Ross. A special thank you to Heidi Peterson and her staff for the care they provided the last few years, Craig’s case workers, Sherilynn O’Leary and Debbie Hunter, who were great advocators for him, Providence Holy Family Hospital for the care given on his many stays and the State of Washington for providing programs and services to make the lives of those with special needs more fulfilling. A memorial service for Craig will be held Saturday, September 28th at 3:00pm at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 W. Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Our Place, 1509 W. College Ave, Spokane, WA 99201; or The Arc of Spokane, 320 E. 2nd Ave, Spokane, WA 99202.
