To forever cherish his memory and his journey are his loving wife, Carrol H. Givens; sons, Clarence Jr. and Daryl Givens & family; daughters, Michele Graves (Maurice), Cheryl A. Nalls (Joseph) and Sherry L. LeBlanc (preceded in death by Tre).
He was preceded by sisters, Laura Mae Givens Lumpkin, Bernice Turk (Pleas) and brother, Roy Givens (Leora). Clay leaves to mourn fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and special friends.
Clay grew up in Leetsdale and Ambridge, PA where he attended school, and worked at H. H. Robertson Steel Co. He was drafted into the Army and transferred to Stockton, CA. He moved to Spokane, WA in 1979 to work with at his brother’s business, Pantrol, and started his own business, Quick Engraving, which he operated until his death.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Deaconess Hospital 7th Tower, and Dr. Ton, for caring for Clay during his illness. Thanks also to Morning Star Baptist Church, Rev. Amos Atkinson, special family and friends.
Visitation will be at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St. on Monday from 3 to 6pm and Tuesday from noon to 8pm, with the family greeting visitors Tuesday from 3to 4. Funeral Services will be at Morning Star Baptist Church, 3909 W. Rowan at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Interment will follow at the Eastern Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA.
