age of 87 in his home in Greenacres, Washington. He was born on January 22, 1936, in Delight,
Arkansas to Henry Boyd Hendrix and Myra Henrietta Womble as one of their six children.
William was the beloved husband of Mary Lou Hendrix and the loving father of William Hendrix (Reba),
Michael Hendrix (Jennifer), and Michelle Phillips. He was also blessed with eight grandchildren and
thirteen great-grandchildren.
William was a remarkable individual who had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He
cherished spending time with his family and friends, exploring nature, and embarking on
memorable travels. In his free time, William enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, and camping.
He was also actively involved in the Kiwanis and Inland Empire Backcountry Horsemen
organizations, always seeking to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
After graduating from Delight Arkansas High School in 1954, he went to Gold Beach, Oregon
where he met the love of his life, Mary Lou. They married on August the 19th, 1956. William
pursued higher education at the Oregon Tech Institute, where he excelled in the office machines
technology program, graduating at the top of his class. This accomplishment laid the foundation
for his successful career as the owner and manager of Empire Office Machines.
William's faith was an important aspect of his life, and he found solace in worshiping at the
Valley Church of Christ. His commitment to his religious beliefs enriched his relationships and
guided his actions throughout his life.
Friends and family will gather to honor and celebrate William's life at Thornhill Valley Chapel in
Spokane Valley, Washington. The compassionate staff at Thornhill Valley Chapel will assist in
making the arrangements for the funeral service.
William Alton Hendrix will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His
legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family and community will continue to inspire those
whose lives he touched.
