Great-grandchildren Harley (Delaina), Logan, Derek, Ryan (Tiny), Dallas, Abagale, Zoey, Cohen, Jocelyn, Luciauna and Carson. Great-great-grandchildren: Gavonni and Esme. Super special people to her (and us) are Teresa, Dave and Spring, Rick and John of Quaill Hill. Tons of nieces, nephews, cousins will always call her favorite.
Nellie did not like her name, yet she traveled to Seattle to get her LPN and wore it well. She was spoiled by her husband, then her granddaughters. In later years, Grandma loved to watch the great grandbabies play, have her grandkids tease her and she loved some good home cooked meals. She had many stories of Alaska life, fishing boats, the first time she saw a man using a fishing pole, the first “pink seal with legs”.
She could sit silently and relish in the surroundings, but you ask about her life in Alaska and you would be the silent one. She mastered the art of crotchet, embroidery and just about any material and “string” you could give her. Including instruments: guitar, harmonica, accordion, vocal, to name the main ones. We will always cherish the handmade gifts she made for us. Nellie was truly loved by so many.
Her baby feet smellin’ self she was.
