Laurel Lea Edwards

“Lollie”

Laurel Lea “Lollie” Edwards was born July 8, 1925 to Lawrence “Rex” Powell and Hazel Ernst in Spokane, WA. She passed away at Valley Hospital in Spokane on July 30, 2017. Laurel is survived by her children, Deana, Marlene, Vickie, Jeanine and Hilary as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her son, Gary, is deceased.

Laurel was the youngest in her family having two older brothers and two older sisters. She grew up at Liberty Lake with fond memories of swimming and dancing during the summers and ice skating on the lake throughout the winters. She graduated from Central Valley Union High School in 1941, married shortly thereafter and moved to California where she lived and raised her children before returning to the Spokane area with her late husband, Frank Edwards. They became active members of Tyrannus Christian Fellowship in Spokane where Laurel continued to attend services until just prior to her death.

A memorial service is scheduled for August 13, 2017 at 12:00PM at Tyrannus Christian Fellowship, 2929 N. Freya St., Spokane, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Services (SCRAPS).
