Helen Martin Mason, age 85 passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 peacefully at her home. She was born July 25, 1937 in Elizabeth, West Virginia. She is survived by her son, Dr. Wendell (Teresa) Smith of Virginia, MN; her daughter, Stephanie Smith of Spokane Valley, WA. Grandchildren: Brandon Smith of Virginia, MN, Brenton (Melanie) of Del Rio, TX, Cameron Smith of Atlanta, GA, and Amanda Smith of Minneapolis, MN. Her Great-Grandchildren: Colton and Cooper Smith of Del Rio Texas; as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Richard W. Mason, parents Walter and Pauline Roberts, brothers Bill and Bob Martin.
Helen graduated from nursing school in 1958 and worked in many aspects of nursing, retiring in 2002 from Valley General Hospital as a pediatric nurse. She loved to travel especially to see family and Grandchildren. She lit up when she saw videos of her great grandsons. She was an avid reader and loved to read the newspaper. She brought love and joy to many and will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held March 11, 2023 at 8:30 am at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints located at 13608 East Belle Terre Ave, Veradale, WA 99037. Service to follow at 9:30 am. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery located at 7200 N. Wall, Spokane, WA 99208
