Glen N. Wells, Jr. passed away peacefully on February 18, 2013. He was born on June 19, 1929 to Glen and Violet (Cross) Wells, Sr., in Akron, OH. Glen’s family later moved to Mannington, W VA where he grew up. In 1947, Glen joined the U.S. Air Force. In 1953, Glen married his sweetheart, Pat Walker, and then they were transferred to Mountain Home Air Force Base in Elmore, ID. In 1962, they welcomed their son, Jeff. After several tours of duty, Glen moved his family to Spokane, WA and retired from the USAF as a Master Sergeant. After retiring, he began his second career with the U.S. Postal Service. After a long and enjoyable career, Glen retired as Postmaster. Glen enjoyed many things in life which included the American Legion, VFW, Eagles, and Elks. In 1988-1989, Glen became the Exalted Ruler of the Elks. Glen’s most favorite retirement pastime and passion was fishing; and it didn’t matter whether it was freshwater or saltwater. Glen is survived by his son, Jeff; sister, Joann Sawyer, both from Spokane, WA; and a niece and nephews whose families live in Rathdrum, ID. Glen also has relatives in Mannington, W VA, and Poplar Bluff, MO. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 1:00pm in the Hazen and Jaeger Valley Colonial Chapel, 1306 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.
