We had a great hike today and came across this wonderful dedication ♥️

I have been on a medical leave from recreational activities for just the one year 2017 to just recently January 2018 excited to return to Yoga Ned's class at the Spk,Valley YMCA I learned of your husbands death. I am shocked and saddened for all of us, he was God's gift to his fellow people's.

Hi Catherine; this is Ned's longtime friend, since about 1983, Mike Nichols.

I am stunned and saddened to learn of Ned's passing. May the Lord's Blessings surround and comfort you and your family in this time of need. 

Since the days when I hired Ned at Homelite as a Territory Manager in 1983, when he lived in Rohnert Park, we became fast friends.

I recruited Ned into the California Army National Guard Reserve as a Second Lieutenant in 1984.

I promoted Ned to District Manager for Homelite in 1985.

Ned was a Groomsman in our wedding in 1988.

I delivered a Bible reading at your wedding in 1989.

Ned and I customarily exchanged e-mails and phone calls over the years, keeping track of each other's various jobs and movements around the country. I had been thinking about Ned these past several weeks and tried to contact him. His cell number didn't work and the home number continued to ring an odd busy signal, seeming as if it was out of order. I then started to look up Edward Francis McNamara on the web and was shocked when, just yesterday, I saw his obituary.

I am devastated and I cried much yesterday. I loved Ned. Oh, such wonderful memories. We made three trips to Hawaii together. We drove countless hours together in Northern California. We shared many meals, beers, and conversations on the road together. We shared many similar qualities that bonded us as friends: we were disciplined, organized, and meticulous, almost to a fault. We were competitive. He was a huge Bosox fan; I was a huge Yankee fan (Oh Oh). We were always concerned about diet, health, exercise, and strength. The first things he would often ask me, Are you taking care of your body? Are you keeping the weight off and the strength up?

Although many miles apart these last several years, I will always cherish Ned's friendship and memories of bygone days and conversations.

I just found out about Ned's passing today.  Ned was my yoga instructor at the Y and he was the best.  He told the best stories, had a fantastic sense of humor and genuinely cared for his students.  He always remembered me (Erin #4) when I would stop by after a long absence.  I loved how he wasn't afraid to be a Patriots fan in Hawks country, he wore his colors proudly, also St Patrick's day...lots of color!  It was always fun to have a dedicated Red Sox fan to talk to as I was originally from New Hampshire and I don't run into many New Englanders :)  Ned will be sorely missed.  I think God broke the mold when He sent us Ned and I am thankful He sent Ned to us.  What a guy...Namaste

I was saddened to hear about the passing of my cousin Ned. Thoughts and prayers to his family

So sorry to learn of Ned's passing. I've thought of him fondly over the years and remembered him as a friend and ally in past relationships. Annabel kept me informed of his whereabouts until she left us...My thoughts and prayers go to his family.

I was blessed to be able to attend his yoga classes on a semi-regular basis & get to know Ned. It was always uplifting to visit with him at the YMCA whether I got to yoga class in time for a spot or not. He touched many lives with his kind & loving heart of that I am sure. Sending my thoughts and prayers of healing, hope & peace.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Ned's passing - I did not know him well, but through my longtime friendship with Catherine I was well aware of how much he was a loved and cherished part of her life and for that I will always be thankful to him.  Sending much love and deepest condolences to you Catherine on your loss.  

Ned, Eddy Lavalle and I all re united at our 50th class reunion. We all laughed so hard we cried over some of the foolish thing we did in high school. Of course Ned remembered every event in extreme detail like it was just happening. We went over the last 50 years of memories into the early morning hours with plenty of Scotch. We all agreed we wanted all the classic cars back that we had in the 60's. Ned always created a party wherever he was. Thanks for being my friend Ned and you were always to me an inspiring person with an incredible heart. 

I will miss you buddy.

Both of you brought such a bright light to Spokane Valley!!

Ned was a true friend and I missed him and Catherine dearly when they moved from Colorado to the state of Washington.  Distance did not lesson our friendship, because once you became a friend you were always a friend of theirs.  He was one of my biggest inspirations to become a yoga certified instructor and I carry his passion for yoga in the Brighton, Colorado community.  Your spirit will always be with me.  Namaste Ned and much love to you Catherine.  

Very saddened by the much too early loss of our fellow SLRHS classmate. Ned and I were very close in grade school, and it was great to catch up with him at our HS reunions. Deepest condolences to all of his family and friends

Our whole class at the Valley YMCA was shocked and very saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Ned.  He was so encouraging and helpful to us all.  Personally, we shared a love of Christ and humanity.  He will be greatly missed by all he touched....such a people-loving, non-judgemental soul.  My prayers go out to you Catherine, in this deeply difficult time.

Ned came to our 50th high school reunion last June.  He stood out from the others ~ he was kind, informative, fit, friendly and a true gentleman.  My prayers and positive thoughts to his famiy.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of my brother's passing a few days ago. I will miss him and our "lively" conversations which were ongoing, even while he was recuperating from heart surgery last year.  Although we had many different opinions, we shared our love of family, (we have 21 grandchildren between us) outdoors, Patriots and, above all, Christ our Savior. I hold precious our memories in Rohnert Park, CA where he introduced me to my wife of 39 years, Jeanice. We had crazy fun! We had hoped to visit him this summer on our way to our daughter's in North Dakota. He is preceded in death by our older brother, Kenneth and youngest brother, Mike. See you in Heaven, little brother.

University SCOPE will miss Ned. Our sympathy to his entire family from all of his SCOPE friends.

Ned is a very dear longtime friend and my long-distance personal trainer, who inspired many to take the journey of health and fitness. My love to Catherine and his children. Prayers for all of you in this time of sorrow.

Ned taught my senior fitness class at the Spokane Club. He incorporated yoga and strength training. He was very fit. We wanted him to teach a gentle yoga class and he was interested. His death has shocked our class as it was so unanticipated. We will miss him greatly.
