It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel Joseph Demers on January 9th, 2024.
Born September 1st, 1989, in Great Falls, Montana, Daniel was the cherished son of Mark and Diana Demers. In 1991, the Demers family relocated to Spokane, Washington, where Daniel spent his formative years. Alongside his brother, Josh Demers, he developed a passion for hockey, a bond that they would endure throughout their lives. Daniel received his education in the Central Valley school system and proudly graduated from Central Valley High School in 2008.
A lover of the outdoors, Daniel found solace in camping, with Lake Sullivan holding a special place in his heart. His camper van was a familiar sight at his favorite retreat, where he embraced the tranquility of nature. Daniel's love for adventure extended to motorcycles, both dirt bikes and road bikes, reflecting his daring spirit. Not only a sports enthusiast, but Daniel also dedicated numerous days and nights to the hockey rink, where he passionately refereed both youth and adult rec hockey.
Professionally, Daniel excelled in the auto mechanic field, showcasing an innate ability to mend anything that came his way. His skill and dedication left a lasting impact on those who sought his expertise.
Daniel is survived by his parents, Mark and Diana Demers, his brother Josh (Cel) Demers, maternal Grandmother Donna Shoemaker, his longtime friend Amy Diebel, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his paternal Grandparents (Don and Anita Demers), Maternal Grandfather (David Shoemaker) and his Uncle Pete Demers
A celebration of Daniels life will be held on January 27th from 1PM-3PM at Thornhill Valley 1400 S Pines Spokane Valley WA 99206. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share memories, and commemorate the life of a beloved individual who will be dearly missed.
