Dana was born in Marion, Illinois to the late Norman Wilson and Velma (Austin) Greene on July 6, 1955, moved to Landing NJ in 1970, and graduated from Roxbury High School in 1973.
Dana met and married her high school sweetheart John D. Hartenstein in 1974, bought a home in Sparta, NJ, had a son Matthew D. Hartenstein in 1978 and a daughter Laura M. (Hartenstein) Matella in 1983. Dana enjoyed the art of dance and ballet, flower gardens and ocean views and was a school bus driver of 15 years for First Student.
She is survived by her devoted husband John D. Hartenstein, son Matthew D. Hartenstein, daughter Laura M. (Hartenstein) Matella, grandchildren Avery Dana Matella, Julien A. Matella, her mother Velma (Austin) Greene, brother Allen Wilson, sister Deborah Dillon, brother Brian Wilson, sister LuAnne Hurdle, and sister Susan Genova.
A memorial service for Dana will be held Friday, September 1st from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Sparta, NJ 07871. A short service will be held at 530PM.
