Lou was born in New Haven, CT to Vito and Emma Luciani on August 5, 1946. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Ellen, and his two daughters, Kate Cerniglia and Jennifer Holecz and their devoted husbands Scott and Jon. His four grandchildren, Matthew, Grace, Emma and Louis were the loves of his life and made him proud each day with all of their accomplishments. He is survived by his sister, Nancy and predeceased by his brother, Robert and his sister, Diane Omiciolli.
Lou was an Air Force veteran and served in Vietnam for 3 years. He received BS & MS degrees from Southern Connecticut State University. He then taught special education at John Winthrop Junior High School in Deep River, CT for 30 years and coached Cross Country & Track for 39 years at Valley Regional High School. He was a devoted teacher and was loved by his students and athletes alike. Mr. Lou, as his students lovingly referred to him, received numerous awards including Connecticut Coach of the Year. He will always be remembered by one word, OCMONDO.
