Joe was born on March 17, 1935 in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late Empro Putnam and Helen Rhyne Putnam.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Thelma Collett Putnam; son, Jody Putnam; and daughter, Lisa Putnam.
Joe was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He loved to fish and be outdoors.
