Alan James Ziminski

Alan joined his father in the plumbing business when he was still a teenager. He worked and went to community college until he realized that his true talents lay in mechanics rather than academics.

When his father retired to Arizona, Alan took over the family business at the age of twenty, a business his grandfather started in 1917.

Alan was a very hard worker and kept the business running successfully until he retired and worked as a consultant for the new owners.

Alan and Barbara bought their dream property in St. James in 2002 and in 2008, Alan started building his dream house. Alan was his own contractor and added all his own little bells and whistles to the house, which he and Barbara moved to permanently in 2016. Alan loved boating and biking and pool, and would have loved to golf, but years as a plumber destroyed his back so he was never able to enjoy the beautiful golf courses at St. James.

Alan was a very generous man who often helped out neighbors with their plumbing issues whenever necessary. He loved being needed.

This was who survived cancer 27 years ago was just starting to enjoy retirement when his untimely death occurred. His dad, sisters, brother, nephews, nieces, and great nieces, as well as his wonderful friends in St. James, will miss his quirky sense of humor and vibrant personality greatly. His wife is devastated because they have been together for 41 years through all of life’s ups and downs. He will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Mass for Mr. Ziminski will be held at Sacred Hearth Catholic Church in Southport at 11:00 o’clock on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021.
