Born in Bar harbor, ME on December 23, 1931 he was the son of the late George and Myrtle Burns. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Pratt & Whitney in Southington after over 27 years. A life long devout Christian man, he enjoyed bowling, camping and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Besides his wife he is survived by four daughters, Gayle Goldman of Southington, Carol and her husband Steven Easterly of Brunswick, GA, Vicki Burns of Southington, Cindy and her husband Everette Barnes of Southington, a son Keith and his wife Michelle Burns of Terryville, a brother Rodney Harvey and a sister Flora Bell both of New Britain, 14 grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher, Melissa, Nichole, Michelle, Amanda, Crystal, Everette Jr., Patrick, Ian, Tyler, Brandon, Jessica and Ryan, and 15 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 9 siblings.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday August 3, 2012 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. in Southington. Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
