Thomas Angelo Del Santo Sr.

Thomas Angelo Del Santo Sr., 79, of Southington, beloved husband of Maria (Simone) Del Santo of over 55 years, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024. Thomas was born in New Britain on April 5, 1945 to the late Angelo and Concetta (Cassella) Del Santo.

Thomas was a proud Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Kiltonic Post 72 and was always proud of his service with fellow veterans. He was also a longtime member of UNICO since the 1980's and a past member and President of The Sons of Italy. Thomas also served as a town constable for several years. He was an avid Yankees and NY Football Giants fan but enjoyed all sports. He could often be found playing cards and trying his luck on his annual trip to Vegas with family and friends. He treasured the time with his family spent traveling to Italy and most of all the time spent with his pride and joy, his three grandchildren.

Besides his loving wife, Thomas is survived by his two children, Michael Del Santo and his wife Kim as well as Thomas Del Santo Jr. and his wife Jennifer. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Jack, Max and Nicholas, his two sisters Delores Castiola and Angela Roberts and her husband Dave, his brother in-law Giulio Simone and his wife June, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three sisters Sylvia Elliott, Marie Block, and Ann Stack, as well as his loved brother in-law and sister in-laws Concetta Cusano, Louisa Riccio, Frank Simone and Rose Picone.

A visitation for Thomas will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington, CT 06489. The funeral will begin from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home on Tuesday December 17 at 10:15 AM where the procession for an 11:00 AM Mass at The Church of St. Dominic 1050 Flanders Rd. Southington will take place. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington
