Born April 6, 1937 in Cheshire, he was the son of the late Edgar and Harriet (Butler) Upson.
Bob retired from the State of CT., Dept. of Corrections in 1985 and from AFSCME Council 4 in 2006.
Besides his wife he leaves six children, Ashley Hiney and husband Dustin of Southington, Cynthia Baker and husband James of GA, Tami Robertson of FL, Tracey Carbone and husband Stephen and Deborah Badgley and husband William all of Southington and Richard Black and wife Violetta of OH; a brother Donald Upson of ID, two sisters, Joan Tomer of CO and Dorothy Carter of MA; 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Robert H. Upson Jr. and two brothers.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
