Peter L. Bosco, 87, of Southington and formerly of Hobe Sound Fl, died on October 1, 2016 at HCC, New Britain Campus with his family at his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Roberta (Spencer) Bosco.
He was born in New Britain on September 5, 1929 son of the late Sebastian and Josephine (Formica) Bosco. Peter attended local schools in New Britain was also a longtime resident of Plainville.
Peter is survived by his five sons and their wives: Thomas and Audrey Bosco of Berlin; Martin and Anita Bosco of Higganum; Capt. Paul and Rhodora of Gambrills, MD; Peter Bosco of Vermont and Robert and Paula Bosco of East Hampton. He leaves many grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his dear sister Lucille Bosco Capra of Newington. Peter is also survived by a special daughter-in-law Maureen Schade of Farmington and Connie Johnson a caring companion who he loved like a daughter of Southington. Peter leaves many dear and loyal friends both in Connecticut and Florida.
Peter was employed by the New Britain Board of Education for many years serving in many schools. He also held positions with the Stanley Works and the now defunct Landers. Peter taught several years as an evening instructor at the former Hartford State Technical College. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Southington and a long time attendee of Bristol Bible Chapel study group. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a plank owner of U.S.S. Salem (CA. 139). He was a graduate of University of Connecticut and CCSU.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The calling hour will be on Wednesday from 3 pm until the time of the service.
