Nathan J. Bernier

Nathan J. Bernier, 90, of Southington, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Complete Care at Meriden. He was the loving husband of Adrienne (Levesque) Bernier for 64 years.

He was born February 20, 1933 in Caswell, ME and was the son of the late Simon and Edwina (Perrault) Bernier.

Nathan was a veteran of the Korean War proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army. He owned CT Sheathing & Trim for many years until his retirement. He had a passion for the outdoors and spent his recreation time in the woods hunting and on the lake fishing with friends and family.

In addition to his wife he leaves his three children, Lisa Bernier of Plantsville, Bruce Bernier and Joann Cardini of Suffield and Brian Bernier and wife Tina of Newington; three grandchildren, Kyle Bernier of Glastonbury, Matthew Bernier and wife Kelli of Southington, Alexandra Wirta and husband Shane of Orefield, PA; two great-grandchildren, Madison Rae and Emma Grace; a brother, Daniel Bernier and wife Pat of Caswell, ME; three sisters, Patricia Fortin and husband Claude of LA, Jeannette Parent of FL and Carleen Stroupe of TX. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Henry and Lanes Bernier and a sister Rowena Parent.

A memorial mass for Nathan will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial with military honors will be held at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington has been entrusted with the arrangements.
