the home of her loving and caring sister Kathy LaBarre. Margaret fought a long and courageous battle with cancer in which she never gave up. She was the wife of the late Vincent Matthews. She was born on Feb. 18, 1934 at her home in New Britain during a blizzard that lasted 3 days and dropped more than 20 inches of snow. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anastasia Marincsin.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Lee Masthay and her husband Jon of Southington, her son Craig Vincent Matthews and his wife Laurie of New Britian, her sister Kathy LaBarre of Southington and her brother Joseph Marincsin and his wife Nami, her grandchildren Lauren Lea Masthay and Aaron Jon Masthay and his wife Kara and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, nephews, cousins and her faithful dog companion Duncan.
Margaret was a very caring person who lived life to the fullest. She loved her Red Sox, going to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and hitting those triple sevens.
The Funeral will be held Saturday 10 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be Friday 5- 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VN A of Central CT, 56 West Main St. Plainville or the Hospital for Special Care, Pulmonary Support Group c/o Janet Bowen, 2150 Corbin Ave., New Britain, CT 06053.
