On March 25, 2014, Dick was reunited for eternity with the beautiful love of his life and wife of 65 years, Alice. Dick passed peacefully at the age of 89. Richard Skwierawski, “Ski”, proudly served in the Navy in WWII. Upon his return he married Alice Winiarski and he and his brothers changed their name to Wier. He was a devoted and loving father to: James (Nancy), William (Maureen), Michael (Lynn), Richard “Rick” Jr. (Joan), Steven (Barbara), Lynn (Ed) Conlee, Thomas (Donna), and Sharon (Larry) Quentin. He was also proud grandpa to: Tiffany, Brandon, Brittany, Daniel, Jon Luc, Nikolos, Kurtis (Dana), Natasha, Jaime (Ryan) Bock, Jaclyn, Andrew (Angela), Michael, Sarah (Andrew) O’Connor, Emily, Maggie, Allison, Matthew, Ben and Charlie; and great-grandpa to six with special extended family of John (Janine) Gaube. Dick is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Art, Bob, Thomas, Lou and his sisters Lillian and Eleanore Schilling.
Together, Dick and Alice founded PDQ Tooling, Inc.; a family-owned business in St. Francis/Cudahy and worked as a sales representative at Advance Screw Products until he retired in 1987. They spent their winters in Port St. Lucie, FL and summers at their cottage in Omro, WI. Dick loved to hunt and fish and was best known for singing old-time tunes in multi-part harmony with his friends and family. As the Wier family patriarch, and a genuinely kind and considerate man, Dick will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Molthen-Bell Funeral Home at 2:00PM. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00PM until time of service.
