Laura,

I can't believe it is almost a year already.  I still miss you but I know that you are happy and at peace.  Your loved ones who have gone before you are at your side and your true love Tom has been anxiously awaiting your arrival.  I love you my friend.  You were the one person who took me for who I am and never passed judement, maybe that is why we stayed friends for so long.  I pray that your family is coping with your loss as best they can.  Your family is in my thoughts and prayers always.

I know I never met you but Laura talked about you all the time.  She loved every one of you so very much.  Laura and I used to share family stories together.  We laughed and cried together.  I met her through Chance and I will be forever grateful to him for bringing Laura into our lives.  She was a great friend. Your daughter was a wonderful person.

I knew Michael, back when we were both working at Target, in 1990.  At that time, my name was Barb Banach.  Mike and I used to talk a bit, and one day I said that I was in need of a babysitter.  That was when he introduced me to his sister, Laura.  She ended up babysitting for my oldest son, Brad, every once in a while.  She was a great kid, always polite, and loved playing with my little boy!

though I never knew you I knew of your brother back in school thanks to u we have reconnected. my heart is with ur family, especially your brother micheal

There aren't enough words to express all of our thoughts and feelings for the loss of our childhood friend.
 
     We met in kindergarten and have been friends ever since for 28 years.  We sure did have alot of good times and laughter with slumber parties, Lions fest, carnivals, admiral games, going up north, snowmobiling, baseball, camping trips, Tennessee and Kentucky state parks.  Along the way, the smoky mountains, Ft. Knox, the helicopter ride over Dollywood, Graceland, the Jim Beam distillery, festivals, concerts, especially Bret Michaels, Poison, and the Toys.  I can't believe she's gone.  May her memories give us joy and knowing she is at peace with the good Lord and Cyndy, Digger, & Tom.  We'll forever miss you, and we won't forget you and all the times we've had.

 Out of all the people I've crossed paths with, I can honestly count the few who've actually meant something to me on one hand.  Laura was definately one of those few.  My friendship with her ignited 24 years ago in fifth grade with two magical words:  Bret Michaels.  She instantly became one of my 1st and real best friends from then, all through Jr. high, high school, and there after.
 Being as shy as I was, and often misunderstood, she helped make school bearable for me and at times dare I say....enjoyable!  She offered me an escape from a very sheltered  upbringing.  I learned alot from her on so many levels.  She was so much a part of my youth as we've shared many ups and downs growing up together.  Through it all she was always there with open ears, open arms and an open heart.  She was the motherly figure of us three.  It was always Laura, Stacey & Janice.  Maybe it was having endured the loss of her mother at such a young age that caused her to take on that role with us.  She was so strong.  Our protector.
 She was always so full of life, adventurous, so funny and just fun to be with.  We've shared so much laughter, silly moments, and childish arguments over who loved Bret the most or who loved him the longest.
 Out of us three, she was the ambitious one, the one who did good in any sport she played, the smart one, (no offense Stace.) who always did good in school, and lectured us for slacking off and not caring.  Had I listened to her and taken her advice then, I wouldn't had to have repeated my senior year.  Always the wise one. Outside of school, she was always the one who took care of us the times  we were irresponsible and having "too much fun".
  As the years went by after high school, distance came between us, yet , she was there for my 1st marriage, the birth of my 1st child, and then my 2nd marriage.  Even there, she was taking care of Stacey for having "too much fun" .  She was always there.
 Regretfully, I haven't seen Laura in almost 4 years.  The last time I saw her , I had told her that I was expecting my 3rd child when we went to see Poison/ Bret Michaels with Stacey.  I never could have dreamed then that , that was the last time the 3 of us would be together again.
   I struggle to cope with the fact that I took for granted that she'd always be there or accept the fact that now she's not.  So today and forever, I grieve for the loss of my dear friend Laura and for the years I lost with her.
  My heart goes out to her parents, her brother, and to the rest of her family.

I'm very thankful I got to have a nice evening out with Laura just a couple of weeks ago.  My sympathies to everyone who loved her.
