Judith Ann (McLaughlin) Kelly of Dennisport, MA passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with vascular dementia. She was 80. Judy was born on December 18, 1941 to Paul and Anna (Burns) McLaughlin, and raised in Quincy, Massachusetts. After Judy graduated from Archbishop Williams High School in 1959, she went on to study nursing at Boston College, class of 1963. Judy enjoyed working as a school nurse for 32 wonderful years in the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District. She loved working with her students as well as her many co-workers who became life-long friends. In her retirement, it gave her great joy to bump into the many students and co-workers she had worked with over the years. Judy’s love and generosity was felt by many friends and family whom she was elated to welcome into her Dennisport home for over 55 years.
Judy was married for 49 unforgettable years to the love her life, the late John M. Kelly Jr. She is survived by her children, John M. Kelly, III and his husband Jeff Pike of Provincetown, MA; Chrisann M. (Kelly) Clougher and her husband Paul and granddaughters Catharine and Caroline of Braintree, MA; Michael J. Kelly and his wife Laura (Lucas) and granddaughter Molly and grandson Jack of Canton, MA. She is also survived by her sister Paulina Danahy of Hanover, MA and her sisters-in-law Madalyn Kelly of South Yarmouth, MA, Delores McLaughlin of Plymouth, MA, Janice McLaughlin of Georgetown, TX, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She will be sadly missed. She was predeceased by her brothers Paul “Jeff” Mclaughlin and Stephen McLaughlin.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Doane Beal & Ames funeral home, 729 Rte. 134, South Dennis, on Friday, October 28th from 4-8 PM. A funeral mass celebrating Judy’s life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, 10 AM, at Holy Trinity Church, 246 Route 28, West Harwich, Ma. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Route 134, South Dennis, MA.
