Janet Irene Fiske

Janet was born in Weymouth, MA. She was married to her high school sweetheart for 60 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children: Mary Beth and her husband Greg Dyer, Bob J. and his late wife Jennifer, and Shawn and his wife Sheila. Janet was thrilled to have seven grandchildren: Cassandra, Kelsey, Charlie, Paige, Amelia, Nicole, and Lian. She also leaves her loving sisters; the late Helen (Rita) Manning, Dorothy Matthew, Lorraine Sears, Sheila Gallagher and Donna Doherty.

Janet had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. Her giggle was heard often. Janet loved to play games. She was known for the twinkle in her eye and the laugh (or smirk) on her lips. She was uniquely independent and confident. She also liked the fact that her initials were JIF.

Janet had many fond memories of summers in New Hampshire and on Cape Cod. After retiring on the Cape, Janet was formerly President of the Dennis Women’s Golf League and a member of the Dennis Golf Advisory Committee. She enjoyed playing golf and never hit a tee shot before she was ready!

Janet made the best chocolate chip cookies, fudge, and gingerbread cookies and hosted big Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings for years. She was also supportive, kind, and thoughtful.

Janet attended Dean Junior College and Stonehill College part time while raising her children. She also worked as an administrative assistant for companies in Boston and Taunton MA.

Due to COVID19, viewing is limited to immediate family only on Wednesday, November 4, at Doane, Beale and Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, South Dennis MA 02660. A celebration of life will be planned at a future time.
