Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Maud (Fleming) Haley.
Dr. Haley was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1944, the University of New Hampshire, class of 1949 and Tufts University Medical School, class of 1953. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Dr. Haley was a physician for 50 years and practiced locally since 1976.
He was a member of the Massachusetts Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association. He loved music and founded the Bob Haley Orchestra. Dr. Haley had a great devotion to his cats, Loki, Veelya, Shadoe and Noelle.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Dr. Charles A. Haley of Colorado, Michael A. Haley and his wife Orly of New York and Jason R. Haley of Tiverton; a daughter, Nina Haley of Taunton; a step-daughter and longtime caregiver, Phoebe Matthews of South Dartmouth; and a grandson, Cameron. He was the brother of the late Janice Hartford.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday, May 7, 2012 from 6-8pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd, Dartmouth.
