Born in New Bedford, a son of Robert E. and Helen R. (Machado) Comeau, he was raised in New Bedford before moving to New Hampshire.
He was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School, class of 1986, and graduated, magna cum laude, with a degree in Marketing from the University of Lowell, class of 1990.
Michael had a successful and fulfilling career in the tourism industry most recently working as a National Account Manager for Rocky Mountaineer in Vancouver BC, Canada. He previously worked for Collette Vacations from April 1997-February 2015 and as Regional Sales Manager from 2001-2015. Michael also worked for Clean Rentals in New Bedford from 1991-1992 in new account development and sales and Agency Rent-a-Car Systems Inc. in East Boston as Branch Manager from 1992-1997.
Michael had a passion for travel and made lifelong friends as he traveled the world. He loved music and was a drummer and vocalist in several bands. He was a self-taught gourmet cook, a beer and food connoisseur and made the best chili. He was an enthusiastic fan of New England sports teams, especially the Patriots, enjoyed playing golf and attending concerts.
Surviving in addition to his parents is a daughter, Mia also known as Wyatt Severy Comeau of Concord, Massachusetts; a brother, Steven E. Comeau of Fairhaven; a nephew and Godchild, Jeremiah Comeau; a Godchild, Jonathan Lawrence, his devoted companion, Lanh Nguyen, his Godparents, Bob and Betty Caron, several aunts, uncles and cousins; and numerous friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 5 to 8pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 10am in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd. Dartmouth. Burial will be private.
