Marion E. (Mills) Costa, 86 of Dartmouth passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 11, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Alan D. Costa, married for the past 64 years. She was a kind-hearted, respected, beautiful and hard-working women who treasured her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were her world and she was an extremely devoted and cherished Mother and Grandmother.
Affectionately known as “Ma” to all her loved ones. Starting every hello and good-bye with her famous quote “Crazy About You Baby”.
Born in New Bedford and raised in Fairhaven, MA. She was the Daughter of the late Ernest and Lillian (Buckles) Mills; Marion was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and New Bedford Beauty Academy. Marion was a hairdresser at the age of 18 until she retired. She and her husband Alan were self-employed at Styling by Alan & Marion. She enjoyed 50’s music, playing cards, singing, dancing and taking rides in her convertible. Marion loved getting together for “football Sunday’s” watching the patriots games with her loved ones and being entertained by her grandkids.
In addition to her husband Alan, she is survived by her children Doreen Mello and her husband Craig of Dartmouth, Christopher Costa and his wife Lucia of GA and Darren Costa and his wife Carmen of Acushnet; her grandchildren, Kraig, Cory, Chad Mello, Christopher, Randilynn Costa, Macy and Chloe Costa; her great-grandchildren, Kenadie, Brody, Norah, Ryder and Ayva; her siblings, Ruth Santos, Allen Mills, Janice Sylvia, Lillian Willett, Nancy Tremblay, Violet Faria and John Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
Marion’s legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all that knew her. Her life reminds us to treasure each moment, to embrace life and to leave the world a little brighter than we found it.
