Gavin was the devoted son of his mother, Jayne Varao, and her husband, James Varao, with whom he shared a special and heartfelt bond, and the beloved son of his father, Michael Bressler.
Gavin was the adored brother of Chelsea Bressler and Jonathan Brocklehurst, who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Born in New Bedford, Gavin graduated from Dartmouth High School and went on to attend Bristol Community College and the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
Gavin loved deeply and authentically. His family meant everything to him, and he was a steadfast presence in the lives of his closest friends.
A proud member of the Marion Art Center, Gavin brought stories to life both on stage and behind the scenes as a talented actor and crew member. With unwavering kindness, he grew and donated his hair to Wigs for Kids several times, helping children in need regain their confidence and smiles.
He cherished his relationship with his partner, Emily Szyszka, whom he loved dearly.
A true individual, Gavin was an avid gamer who found joy in immersive worlds and friendly competition. He loved dogs, sharing a special bond with every four-legged friend he met, and was a self-proclaimed hot sauce connoisseur, always seeking out the spiciest flavors to test his limits.
In addition to his parents and siblings, Gavin is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him deeply.
Gavin’s warmth, humor, and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. Though his time with us was far too short, his legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will live on forever in our hearts.
