DARTMOUTH – Feliciano S. Rodrigues, 82, of Dartmouth, died Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital following a period of declining health. He was the husband of Maria Jose (Silva) Rodrigues whom he married in Sao Martinho, Madeira, Portugal, and shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in Sao Martinho, Madeira, Portugal, he was the son of the late Feliciano B. and Iria (Silva) Rodrigues. He immigrated to the United States in 1967 and was a parishioner at St. Mary’s Church.
Mr. Rodrigues was self-employed as a Mason Contractor for 28 years. His work can be seen throughout the South Coast and has been featured in Builder/Architect Magazine and in the Fall River Herald. He was a talented stone mason and took great pride in his work.
He was a member of the Clube Madeirense S.S. Sacramento, Inc. and served as its Vice President for eight years. He served on many Feast committees over the years. In addition, he was Feast President in 1988, Feast Parade Marshal in 2006, and received a Lifetime Achievement award.
In his spare time, he loved traveling, gardening, and making wine. He enjoyed taking Sunday rides. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family, friends, and telling family stories.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Otilia Gomes and her husband Virgilio Gomes of Dartmouth, his granddaughter Lila Gomes of Dartmouth, a sister-in-law Zita Gomes and her husband Carlos Gomes of Madeira, Portugal; a sister-in-law Liliana Moura and her husband Martins Moura of Dartmouth; and a brother-in-law Joao Silva and his wife Silvina Silva of Dartmouth, and several nieces and nephews in Madeira and Braga, Portugal, and the United States.
He was the son-in-law of late Jose Freitas Silva and his wife Fernanda Maria Silva. He was the brother of the late Ferdinanda Rodrigues, Firmino Rodrigues and his wife Judite Rodrigues, Farther Isidro Rodrigues, Adriano Rodrigues of Madeira, Portugal; and Iria Figueira and her husband Gabriel Figueira of Braga, Portugal; and Olga Rita Sylvia and her husband Manuel Sylvia, and niece, Iria R. Sylvia of Dartmouth.
His visitation at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth, MA 02748 Monday, October 14, 2024 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. His Funeral will be Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 9 A.M. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, South Dartmouth, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 10 A.M. Internment in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
