Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late C. Forrest and Clara M. (Sylvia) Smith, she lived in Dartmouth for many years before moving to Avery Crossing in Needham a few years ago.
Eleanor graduated from Dartmouth High School in 1946. She was a great cook and an avid cross-stitcher. She enjoyed attending the dinners of local Investment Clubs to which her husband belonged and loved taking weekend trips to Vermont, also with her husband.
In addition to her husband survivors include: two sons, David C. King of Auburn and Paul S. King and his wife Patricia W. King of Needham; two grandsons, Frank W. King of Ohio and Charles W. King of Virginia; a sister, Thelma Hammond; a sister-in-law, Pauline Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Charles Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11 AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN Home of Memorial Tribute, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visitation, Thursday 10-11 AM prior to the service.
