David M. Macedo

David M. Macedo, 70, of Dartmouth passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in Charlton Memorial Hospital with his family at his side. He was the husband of Janet (Gould) Macedo to whom he shared 26 years of marriage.

Born in Dartmouth, a son of late Francisco and Florence (Rose) Macedo; he was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth. David was graduate of Dartmouth High School and was employed at UMASS Dartmouth for 32 years as a manager in the facilities department. He enjoyed the friendship and respect of all who worked there. David loved Christmas and took great pleasure in elaborate decorating that would bring joy to others.

David had lived in Dartmouth his whole life and had a great appreciation of this region. He loved and felt very fortunate to be able to spend time at Round Hill Beach.

In addition to his wife Janet, he is survived by his beloved son’s Benjamin Macedo and his fiancé Kayla Berry of Dartmouth, Henry Saucier and his companion Amy Cornell of New Bedford and Peter Saucier and his companion Colleen Thompson of Johnston; his granddaughter Megan Saucier: his brother, Richard Macedo and his wife Brenda of Dartmouth; his niece Heather Medeiros and her husband Robbie of Dartmouth and his dear great nephews Chase and Brett. His wife’s family includes in-laws and many nieces and nephews. He had great love for them all.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, 795 Dartmouth Street, Dartmouth, MA 02748. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth, MA 02748. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery.
