Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Dr. Conrad and Ethel (Sowle) Tessier and was a graduate of Holy Family School, New Bedford High School and Bentley College.
Mr. Tessier was employed for over 30 years by J & J Corrugated Box Corporation at their plants in Fall River and Franklin, MA and served more than 4 years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He lived in the Attleboro area for 30 years and was active at St. Mark’s Parish in Attleboro Falls. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul since 1962 and a recipient of the Diocese of Fall River Marian Medal.
He enjoyed following the Patriots and Red Sox, and relished a good game of cribbage and time spent with his son-in-law Larry.
In addition to his wife of 70 years, he is survived by a daughter, Ann Feilhauer of Somerset; and two sons, John Tessier of Bradenton, FL and Edward Tessier of Keene, NH; two grandchildren, Paul Feilhauer and Amy Cichon of Swansea; one great-granddaughter, Alisa Feilhauer; and one brother, Robert Tessier of Fall River. Paul was also the father of the late Mark Tessier.
Mr. Tessier’s family would like to thank the staff at the Fall River Jewish Home for their compassionate care he received during his short stay.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 306 South Street, Somerset. The family will receive friends and relatives prior to the Mass, parking is behind the church. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Bedford. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, Somerset.
