Born in Dighton, son of the late Manuel and Alexandria (Pereira) Phillips, Phil graduated from Dighton High School, Class of 1955. He then joined the United States Army and served his country proudly for 6 years.
Phil went on to work as a Maintenance Forman for Myles Standish State Forest for 14 years. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Phil was a member of the Atlantic Fish Club in Taunton.
He is survived by two sons, David P. Phillips and his wife Leslie of Dighton, and Mark A. Phillips and his wife Jerilyn of Lisbon, NH; two grandchildren, Karissa DiMarco and her husband Matthew, and Nicole Phillips; and two great-grandchildren, Ellie Rose DiMarco and Zeppelin Arruda.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
