Shirley Rose Thomas was born to Roy and Audrey Edwards November 26, 1935 in Everett, Washington. She passed away and slipped into the arms of her Savior on September 20, 2021. Shirley married Bernard A. Thomas in 1955 and they had 4 children. Bernie and Shirley moved to Sitka, Alaska in 1967 where she was a cook for Sitka Community Hospital. Moving back to Everett in 1977, Shirley was reconnected with her church family and friends at Calvary Baptist Church and spent the next several years cooking for Liberty Christian School and Day Care. She operated her own day care for 3 years until her father became ill and she became his caregiver. After her father passed away in 1988, she worked for the Washington State DSHS for the next 11 years and then retired. Shirley was predeceased by her ex-husband Bernie and her son, James A. Thomas. She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Adams, her children Meagen C. Johnson (Roger Johnson), Theresa A. Bright (Thomas Bright), Roy E. Thomas (Crystal Thomas) and grandchildren, Kevin Villarias, Brian Villarias (Christi Villarias), Sara Kernan (Matthew Kernan), Sadie Thomas, Gracie Thomas, Tyler Thomas, Ryan Thomas, and Danielle O’Brien. Step grandchildren, Ashley A. Norris (Russell Norris) and Bonnie Bright (Kris Hanson), 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Bauer Funeral Chapel, 701 First Street, Snohomish, WA 98290, September 30, 2021 at 21:00 p.m. Private viewing will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
