Judy Mae Swanson

Judy moved to the state of Washington with her parents; William H and Della L Wright when she was very young. Judy was the oldest of the second batch of kids. They all have preceded her in death.

She graduated from Snohomish High School and then took her civil service test to work for the state or county (we do not know which). This is when she became engaged to Eric Swanson, her love of her life.

While saving up for the wedding, she decided to live with her family in Sacramento, CA for a year. Judy got her feet wet in the escrow business and was able to move those skills back up to Everett, WA the next year.

Eric and Judy were married on April 4, 1963, and were happily married just shy of 44 years (8 days) until his passing on March 27, 2007.

They did not have any kids but later in life, Fawn and Kim became like daughters to Judy.

With her escrow skills and photographic memory, she was advancing in the business and joined the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women (NAPMW). With encouragement by Eric to run for the office of National President of NAPMW. She won and was the National President for the 1977 – 1978 term. Family was so proud of her accomplishments.

After her term, she decided to branch out and have her own escrow office. She was the owner of Marysville Escrow for 15 years and then decided it was time to retire.

Judy loved to travel. Between cruises, planes, trains, and automobiles she was able to visit all 50 states. And she did some of this traveling with the Seniors at the Stillaguamish Center. Not only did she love to travel but she enjoyed Bingo, gambling, bowling and Wii Bowling. Covid kind of put a damper on her traveling but when she thought about it, she said to family that there was nowhere else she wanted to visit. She enjoyed her traveling but it was time to hang up the passport.

She leaves behind so many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends: too numerous to name here. We all would say the same thing… we love you and will miss you very much.

A funeral service for Judy will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Bauer Funeral Chapel, 701 First Street, Snohomish, Washington. A reception will occur Saturday, November 23, 2024, 701 First Street, Snohomish, Washington. A final resting place will occur at Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, 8601 Riverview Rd, Snohomish, Washington.
