Ronnie Bennett, 66, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. Ronnie was born on September 29, 1950 to Ernest and Mary Frances Bennett in Eastman, GA. He was a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer and worked as an Area General Manager for the Atlanta Dignity Group of funeral homes and cemeteries and enjoyed serving on several state boards. He was an avid sports fan, especially the University of Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville. Ronnie’s true passion in life was serving his community in their greatest times of need. He was a loving husband father, and grandfather who loved life, but most important, he loved the Lord. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Renee Sellers Bennett of Lawrenceville, daughter Katie McDonald and husband Scott of Cumming, sons Joshua Bennett of Alpharetta and Jesse Bennett and wife Heather of Jefferson, brother Phillip W. Bennett of Athens and grandchildren, Halle Kate McDonald, Brooks McDonald, Lilly Bennett and Mason Bennett. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00am on Sunday, February 5, 2017, in the Eternal Hills Funeral Home Chapel. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Project.
