She was born in Atlanta on February 26, 1942, to Mary Ernestine Adams and Harry Chastain.
A graduate of Bass High School, Priscilla was a devoted wife and stay-at-home mother. The spiritual bedrock of her family, she was active in the Altar Guild of Harmony Grove United Methodist Church as well as the youth ministry and Vacation Bible School. She especially treasured the Good News Sunday School class and often shared her extensive Biblical knowledge as a teacher. In addition to traveling with her late husband Eddy and friends, Priscilla enjoyed books, puzzles, and crafts. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, daily watching games with her Eddy. A lover of all things Christmas, she took joy in decorating and celebrating the Advent season.
Priscilla is survived by her three children and their families: Timothy E. Hicks and his wife Julie with their three sons Noah, Micah, and Elijah; Jason C. Hicks; and Priscilla Hicks Rivera and her husband Eric with her daughter Hannah and son Jacob. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Judith A. Phillips. She was predeceased by her daughter Krista R. Hicks.
A service celebrating her life and legacy will be held at Harmony Grove United Methodist Church in Lilburn, GA on Monday, December 2, at 12 PM. Visitation will begin at 11 AM. Afterward, she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband of 58 years with a graveside service at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harmony Grove United Methodist Church.
