Jacquelyn Higginbotham Harden, better known to family and friends as Jackie, was born to Hugh Higginbotham and Myrtle Higginbotham Hollingsworth in Decatur, GA on June 6, 1929. Jackie graduated from Girls High School in Atlanta. She married O.N. (Bud) Harden on October 6, 1950. She attended Colonial Woods Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, GA.
Jackie enjoyed working with her hands, but most of all, she enjoyed dedicating her time to David and Chris, spending time as a Den mother with the Cub Scout Troop and taking them to swimming lessons. She also enjoyed her time with Bud doing ceramics, going on many family camping trips to Tugaloo State Park and Indian Springs State Park in their Apache Pop-Up Camper.Jackie loved cooking and decorating, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas when the entire family came to celebrate. Most of all, she enjoyed being part of the church family and dedicating her work and time to the Lord.
Jackie is preceded in death by her husband O.N. (Bud) Harden. Survivors include her sons David Allen Harden and William Christopher Harden and wife Rose, sister Gwendolyn Daley, grandson Jesse Miles Harden and wife Chelsea, granddaughters Melba Lane Rosa and husband Alejandro, Julia Rose Williams and husband Aaron and Sarah Marie Casto and husband Chris, great grandsons Daniel Alejandro Rosa, Colten Miles Harden, Miles Joseph Williams and Elliot Michael Casto and great granddaughters Melba Emma Rosa, Treva Jean Harden and Olivia Marie Casto.
A visitation for Jacquelyn will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, Georgia. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 12:00 PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home Chapel, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, Georgia. Jackie will be laid to rest at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.
