Denise Arlene Cooper, affectionately known as “Niecy”, was born on March 23, 1954, to Elizabeth and George Moore in the bustling city of Chicago, Illinois. At an early age, she professed her love for Christ at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she was baptized, directed, and sang in the choir.
Denise graduated from Christian Fenger Academy High School in Chicago, Illinois in 1972. Following graduation, she attended Illinois State University, studying various medical specialties and obtaining her Phlebotomy Certificate. Denise also attended Pivot Point International and became a licensed Cosmetologist.
Denise later relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where she attended Strayer University earning her associate in arts business administration and Bachelor of Business Education. Denise began her career at Laboratory Corporation of America, serving in several different positions until she retired in 2022. While in Atlanta, Denise met the love of her life, Kenneth Cooper, in 2001. They were inseparable from the moment they met, leading to marriage in 2004. A fun-loving, upbeat woman who cared about everyone. Denise loved to host and attend family and friends gatherings to fellowship and have good times. She never met a stranger and left her memory everywhere she visited. Always open to offering support and guidance to anyone needing it.
Denise was preceded in death by her loving parents Mr. & Mrs. George Moore; a sister, Caprice Blackmon; Brothers, Wendell Martin and Ronald Moore. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, her loving and devoted husband, Kenneth Cooper of Atlanta, GA; her cherished daughters Danetta Ruff of Stone Mountain, GA and Chivon (Ramon) Christian of Conley, GA; Beloved sister Mona (Gary) McCluskey of Dacula, GA, one faithful Brother Maurice Blackmon of Milwaukee, WI; A Bonus daughter Kendra (Jerrod) Houston of Sandy Springs, GA; A Bonus son, Kenneth Walden of Marietta; A Goddaughter, Cloris McClinton of Atlanta, GA; and A special sister, Patricia McClinton of Stone Mountain, GA; four grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 20 adoring nieces and nephews and a host of very special great nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
A visitation for Denise will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
