Ted "Tito" leaves behind a legacy of stories that will forever be held in the hearts of those who knew & loved him. Keeping his memory alive for years to come as the stories continue to be shared.
Born November 3, 1930 in Athens, Maine to parents Fred & Bernice Wood, Ted attended local schools & developed a love for the outdoors. He enlisted in the Army in November of 1948 & began his career as an Engineer at the Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. Ted was honorably discharged as a Sergeant & returned home to Maine in August of 1952. While raising his family Ted worked many odd jobs & put his love for the outdoors to work by becoming a registered Maine State Guide. He was a long time member of the Skowhegan-Madison Elks Club & eventually made a career out of working at the local shoe shops retiring from Dexter Shoe in March of 1996.
Throughout his life Ted made it a point to live his days to the fullest. Many years of hunting, fishing & camping with friends & family. Anyone who knew him could feel his passion for fun & laughter. You may not have had the same quick whittednes, sense of humor or enjoyed having a drink in your hand as much as he did, but that didn't matter to Ted. He always accepted people for who they were.
Ted was predeceased by his parents Fred & Bernice Wood; sister Florence Wood; brother Dick Wood & wife Lorraine; in-laws Alfred & Marie Bowman; brother-in-laws Niles, Wayne & Gary Bowman; daughter Laurie Marie Wood; granddaughter Amy Cardwell & dear friends Donald Bowman, Sr. & Bob & Thelma Jewell.
